Auricular (or ear) acupuncture is a specialist complementary therapy involving either sterile, disposable needles, or sometimes electro-acupuncture. The ear is considered as a micro-system of the body, and peppered with scores of acupuncture points, each related to specific organs or TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) systems of the body.

Reflexology, Ear Acupuncture
In addition to my private practice I have previously delivered auricular acupuncture and reflexology for a Durham based drug and alcohol service; counselling for a local G.P. practice and one-to-one non-directive play therapy for emotionally vulnerable infant school children (Place2Be). Please do not hesitate to contact me by mail or telephone me should you require any further information.
Fee charges are listed on a per hour basis (£35.00). I do not charge for individual therapies - rather, clients pay for my time, and sessions might include a combination of therapeutic interventions, depending on unique needs.
Reflexology is a powerful, deeply relaxing touch based complementary intervention, primarily involving the feet. Research recommends reflexology for stress and anxiety, acute pain and lymphatic drainage. Another demonstrated outcome in reflexology relates to an increase in local perfusion (blood flow) to specific areas and organs of the body.
Welcome to my website,
I hold a BA (Hons) in Counselling and would describe my counselling practice as eclectic in nature. This means that I am familiar with a variety of theoretical models, for example, humanistic, existential and CBT, and may often work with a combination of models depending on each clients individual requirements.
Workshop and support group fees are listed separately.
Simply put, electro-acupuncture involves using small electric currents to stimulate muscles and nerves. The practice is also referred to as percutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, or PENS. Electro-acupuncture can be incredibly useful in managing neck and back pain, chronic headaches and migraine, and symptoms relating to fibromyalgia.
My sub-fertility and IVF work is underpinned by the science of health psychology (psychobiology) and might be most simply conceptualised as the 'promotion of the hospitable womb'. Similarly, health psychology information helps us to better understand some of the complex connections existing between mind and body - specifically, working to highlight the intimate relationship between chronic stress and many autoimmune, digestive and endocrine conditions.
